Memorial Tree planting - 21st January
What a wonderful day for this special day for close family & friends gathering together to remember Brian, our former chair. The weather was kind to us, a good crowd of people came to watch the Birch tree being planted.
Tom Froude, the deaf chair gave his speech,
great to see you all here who knew Brian, today is extra special because
Brianís son Paul is here as he was not present when we had cherry tree
planting in 2003. This month marks the 8th anniversary of
good to think something of him goes on here in Kelsey Park, this birch
tree that will grow straight & strong like Brian because he loved
walking in this park enjoying the nature around him.
Mary planted the cherry tree from Bromley Chain 6 years ago I did not
expect to be here as a chair for repeat tree planting but now in this new
location, I pray that this new tree will grow firm into the ground and
stay untouchable. But I know we cannot control what work goes on around
the park. I hope this will now be his special place for many years to
I am delighted that Mary & Paul are here today Ė we are thankful for this weather, nice and cold but better than wet & windy!
