Profile: Erica Rogers M.B.E (Hearing-aid user) My
Father had loss of hearing in old age and as a friend of Brian and Mary
Campion I have known about Bromley Chain's work since it's start, so I was
pleased to join the committee. As a hearing aid user for the past three and a half years who prior to this had great difficulty in getting fitted by the old Beckenham Hospital I am interested in the problems those with anologue aids have in getting digital aids. I
am retired now but prior to this worked mainly in the voluntary sector,
including politics. Before marriage
I was with an international overseas aid organisation and afterwards in
training for both the young disadvantaged and the elderly, and those who
worked with them. This work included
introducing the problem of loss of hearing with retirement groups.
I also lectured in adult education and held seminars for those
retiring. I
have lived in Beckenham for the last forty years and have two children and
two grandchildren.
